Gianna Theodore

GIANNA THEODORE (she/her) is a dancer whose practice draws from a wide range of cultures and movement traditions, including contemporary, house, and African dance. Raised in West Palm Beach, Florida, she has built a career that moves fluidly across concert and commercial performance.

Theodore began her training at Ballet East Studio under the direction of Susan Lyle and Chelsea Nasby and later graduated from A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts. A three-time YoungArts Merit Scholar and Honorable Mention recipient, she went on to earn a BFA in Dance from the Ailey/Fordham BFA program in 2020.

Throughout her training and professional career, Theodore has performed works by Robert Battle, Chuck Wilt, Bradley Shelver, Ebony Williams, Mark Caserta, Maleek Washington, and Jennifer Archibald. She also attended Springboard Danse Montréal, where she performed works by RUBBERBANDANCE and Parts + Labour Danse. Her versatility has led to featured roles in music videos and participation in a recent residency with Helen Simoneau Danse.

Theodore joined Kyle Abraham Dance Vanguard in 2019.
