Micaelina (Mic) Carter

MICAELINA (MIC) CARTER (Touring Logistics Lead; she/her) is a Black and Filipina arts administrator and movement artist dedicated to creating equitable and accessible art spaces where all people can bring their full selves to the artwork they absorb and produce. 

Introduced to dance at the age of three, she began her pre-professional training at Metropolitan Ballet Academy under Lisa Collins Vidnovic. Carter graduated summa cum laude from the Ailey School and Fordham University BFA program with a degree in Dance and a minor in Comparative Literature. 

During her time at the Ailey School, Carter performed works by choreographers such as Hope Boykin, Micaela Taylor, Rebecca Margolick, Chris Bloom, Earl Mosely, and Maleek Washington, in addition to training under master teachers Melanie Person, Tracy Inman, Lakey Evans Pena, Ana Marie Forsythe, and Graciela Kozak. She was also selected to participate in the New Directions Choreography Lab with choreographers Annie Rigney, Burr Johnson, Nattie Trogdon, Hollis Bartlett, Tony Bordonaro, and Ingrid Kapteyn. 

Carter has worked with major arts institutions including Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Vail Dance Festival, and New York City Center, and now serves as Touring Logistics Lead at Kyle Abraham Dance Vanguard. Carter joined Kyle Abraham Dance Vanguard in 2026.
